A lifetime experience. A very beautiful trek. Starting from the walks through the trees, to muddy patches and rocky terrains, & finally through the snow glaciers, we crossed everything that came in our way.
Those windy nights, tanned skin, delicious food, exhausted body, low oxygen levels, variety of flowers, slippery glaciers, long walks, masti at the campsites will never leave my memories.
.
PS: I still can't forget those numb legs after the river crossing with naked legs in freezing cold water.
A land pulled down from heaven, filled with raging rivers, beautiful pine trees, and green plains. I did a short trek here to Chikka camp (Hamta Pass Trek Base Camp), and the beauty I witnessed was unparalleled. I can't imagine how much I would see on the full trek. If you're interested in trekking, then this is the place for you!
What a Beauty 😍, Hampta Pass trek changed within myself. Before the trek starts there is no electricity or network, which for me is the best way to understand the mountains and respect and be blessed for everything you come across..
° All the base camps are amazing , food throughout was better .
° It's not hard , it's just moderate trek. Anyone can do it.
° You come across Indrasan and Deo Tibba , which are mountain peaks.
° The snow covered peaks , Yes they are majestic and beautiful at the same time.
° Balu ka ghera basecamp was favourite of all..
The best time will be once after first snow, you can do this even in May-June for pristine greenery around.
Superb 5 day trek in the midst of the mountains. Needs slight fitness since day 2 and 3 climb is a bit steep and long. But totally worth all the effort. Must do for amazing views. Preferably do this trek during June-July as it starts getting very cold after September
This trek has the most blissful views of all others that i did.
Me and my friends did this trek in the month of march and we had the best possible weather conditions.
The trek is difficult but it also gives promising views and experiences.
The valleys are mesmerising and you will also encounter many streams which have crystal clear water.
We had a good time here. I would not say one of the best place, because anybody who have gone to Gulmarg, Kashmir; would say the same, as the snow here is not even half as much as Gulmarg. But the first time visitors would definitely love it.
The problem here is the hefty amount they charge. I visited this place in February, 2023. They were literally charging 8000 Rupees, per couple. On too much bargain they dropped it to 7000. Which I feel is definitely not worth.
So advice to people who are willing to visit this place, if they have the budget then they can visit this place definitely. If not then, make place for Kashmir and we can definitely see a better snow then here, in much lesser cost.
It was a wonderful experience of trekking .
And after all the way of trekking the view from the summit was speechless.
Hamta Pass is one of the most amazing treks for beginners to Himalayan trekking. The pass at an elevation of 14,280 ft has been a very old trade route, connecting Lahaul’s Chandra Valley and Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh, India. The trek also offers a contrast from the lush green valley of Kullu to the dry and arid valley of Spiti. The visit to Chandratal Lake completes another satisfying element in terms of view to the trek.
Take a bus from New Delhi/Chandigarh for Manali and get down at Patlikuhal (20 kms before Manali)
Transport options are readily available from Patlikuhal for Rumsu village. Sumo – 700 INR while small car – 500 INR.
Once at Rumsu village follow the trail for Kailashrath Treks base camp.
Note: If you are staying already in Manali, take a direct cab for Rumsu village (26 kms)
Camping and folklore go hand in hand at Hampta Pass Trek, which differentiates it from any other treks in Himachal. Also known as Himachal's Valley of Flowers, this pass is located in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas. Besides, the Hampta Pass height, at 14,100 feet (4,298 meters), offers glaciers, fast-flowing rivers, challenging terrain, steep, rocky, and vertical climb, and way more than any ordinary trek.
